About the Role
Develop and deliver instructional lessons based on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) electrical curriculum, covering topics such as electrical theory, wiring, circuitry, and code compliance.
Utilize a combination of classroom lectures, laboratory exercises, and hands-on demonstrations to teach students essential electrical skills and concepts.
Demonstrate safe work practices and proper use of electrical tools and equipment, emphasizing compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
Assess student learning outcomes through quizzes, exams, practical assessments, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support student growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement innovative teaching strategies, activities, and assessments.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and changes in electrical codes and standards.
Requirements
Extensive experience working as an electrician or electrical contractor, with a solid understanding of electrical principles, techniques, and practices.
Proficiency in using the NCCER electrical curriculum and related instructional resources to facilitate student learning preferred, but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
Previous experience in teaching or training electrical apprentices preferred.
Electrical certification or licensure required.
